SEO is important whether you’re a seasoned ecommerce veteran or just starting to sell online. Optimizing your site will be a continuous process, as search engines are constantly surveying the internet to index and rank pages. Any discrepancies might cause Google to NOT show your business' information on a search result page. The page title and URL are two of only a small number of elements that are present for a user to view within the search engine results page. It’s fair to say that they have a huge impact on click-through rate from the SERPs. One of the most common misconceptions is that blogging on your own site is going to help your SEO. There is no single place to focus when trying to optimize a website for search engines, so it is important to make updates and upgrades to various parts of a website at regular intervals, not spending too much time or effort on any particular aspect of the website while other features get ignored or underserved. If you don’t know who your competition is, search for some of your most important keyword targets – sites that consistently rank well are the ones to take a look at. As long as you’re playing by the rules, there’s no significant danger that you'll earn a penalty or damage your reputation in the process.

You need more diversity on your pages

Variables make it possible to automate certain processes on your site. They also make it easy to change large batches of meta descriptions for instance, since you only have to change the structure of the variable – the site fills in the data automatically. Internal page linking is an important part of on page SEO. These can be interpreted as binding your website together. In addition to the actual text on your web pages, search engines also examine their structure, the use of keywords in your URLs, the formatting of the page (such as the use of bold font), and which keywords appear in the title and in the body of the text. Today, queries don’t just return a list of ten blue, ordered links. They return results with images, videos, profile pictures, and all manner of meta data that help searchers choose the best result. A site that hasn’t done its keyword research is like a car driving in the dark down between two points. Keyword research is a constant and has been and still is a cornerstone of SEO.
